Delight in a mid-day hike of Mount Falcon situated in Jefferson County's "open space" just thirty-five minutes from downtown Denver in Morrison, Colorado. The story of Mount Falcon is largely the story of John Brisben Walker, who once owned over 4,000 acres of land in this area. During the early 1900's Walker lived in an elaborate stone home on Mount Falcon while planning the construction of a summer home for the Presidents of the United States. Walker's home was struck by lightning and burned in 1918, and now all that remains of this once splendid structure are the massive stone walls and numerous fireplaces of this unique mountain castle. One mile into the hike, you will stumble upon the remains of Walker's home and the courtyard that exists today. While you take a small break, the guide will share some of this rich history before continuing on the remaining two-hour hike across Mount Falcon. As the hike concludes, to Red Rocks, the final stop on the day's adventure, the group will enjoy a boxed lunch surrounded by nature as you reflect on this truly inspiring day!
Tour includes transportation, professional guide, hiking tour of Mt. Falcon, tour of Red Rocks Amphitheatre, boxed lunch, snacks and bottled water.
