State Insurance Credits

FPA will apply to the following states for state insurance continuing education: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

Please Note: Although FPA will apply to these agencies, approval by any agency is not guaranteed. Please visit the conference Web site after August 15, 2009, for individual state approval information.

Pre-registration Process

FPA requires that you pre-register for state insurance continuing education. When you register for the conference — online, by paper or over the phone — you will be required to provide your state insurance license number, the state you are licensed in and your name as it appears on your license. If this information is not provided, FPA will be unable to report state insurance continuing education credits.

On-site Process

Attendees seeking state insurance continuing education credit must check in at the main registration area to receive conference credentials, badge and tote bag. Once you have received your credentials, you must check in at the "State Insurance/CE" booth. Upon presentation of a photo ID, bar-code labels and instructions on how to receive state insurance credits will be provided. Please note that each state has different rules, regulations and requirements regarding the monitoring of attendees in sessions and verification of attendance through a sign-in and sign-out process. FPA has developed a single process that meets the highest standard of guidelines for states that FPA applies to for credit. This is done to ensure an efficient reporting process for attendees.

  1. FPA staff representatives will be stationed at each session with qualifying state insurance continuing education credit. Upon entering the session attendees will be provided with a card. This card will be used to provide vital information required by the states to report your credit. This is important; attendees must be sure to take one of these cards upon entering the session.
  2. Attendees must place a bar-code label — provided at the "State Insurance/CE" booth — onto the side of the card.
  3. Attendees must sign the card in order to comply with state guidelines.
  4. Attendees must physically hand the completed card containing the bar-code and signature to the FPA representative upon leaving the session.

Compliance

The process for being awarded state insurance continuing education credit is rigorous due to state guidelines and must be complied with fully in order to receive credit. Due to state laws, FPA is unable to make exceptions to the stated policies. The following attendee cards will not be processed and will be ineligible for credit:

  • Late arrivals will not receive a card. State guidelines require attendees to be present during the entire duration of the session, start to finish. FPA representatives are unable to hand out cards once the speaker has taken the stage.
  • Cards left in an evaluation basket, turned in at a later time, not turned in at all or are not signed will not be eligible for credit.
  • Attendees who leave the qualifying session early — before the posted time on the printed schedule — will not be eligible for credit.
