FPA Anaheim 2009 offers attendees up to of 22 hours of continuing education credit — including pre-conference events — pending CFP Board of Standards approval. 

FPA designs its programs to comply with the principles of good practice accepted by most major professions. FPA will apply for acceptance from:

• CFP Board of Standards
• FPA of Australia Limited's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program
• Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA)
• Professional Achievement in Continuing Education (PACE)

FPA will apply to select states for state insurance continuing education credit. Please visit the State Insurance Credits page for detailed information, registration information, on-site procedures and a list of states and sessions that will be applied for state insurance continuing education credit.

Financial Planning Association is registered with the National Association of the State Board's of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.

Receiving Continuing Education Credits at the Conference

To receive continuing education credit for FPA Anaheim 2009, you must scan your badge as you enter each session. Visit the State Insurance Credits page for specific requirements to receive credit, as they differ.

We also ask that you complete and turn in a Speaker/Session Evaluation Form at the end of each session you attend. The evaluation forms will be used as a back up to the badge scans for CE purposes. Forms faxed or mailed to FPA after the conference cannot be accepted for credit. The form must be completely filled out to properly process.

Monitors will be posted at each session to keep track of anyone who leaves during the session to ensure that the session is attended for the full duration. If you are late to a session, leave the session early or do not attend the session for the duration, CE will not be awarded. Visit the State Insurance Credits page for specific requirements to receive credit, as they are more rigorous. 

Reporting Continuing Education Credits

CFP Board of Standards CE

FPA will automatically report credits to the CFP Board within four weeks of the conference.

All Other Designations

As the attendee, you are responsible for reporting CE credit for other designations you may hold. You will be notified when you can log on to the FPA Web site to print a certificate of completion (about 4 weeks after the conference). This certificate may be used to report other CE hours.
